Buckaringa Gorge

Buckaringa Gorge Acrylic Painted in 1999 Code No D151

Bushwalkers take a break from the mid summer heat in the shade of a gum tree.

The Buckaringa Gorge area of the Flinders Ranges National Park is home to the endangered Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby and is part of the great Sanctuary of the Flinders Ranges. It is hoped that once protective fencing is in place, creatures currently extinct in this area - Bettongs, Bandicoots, Possums, Eastern Quolls, Mala Wallaby, Stick Nest Rats and other small animals can be re-introduced.
