Winter clouds gather to bring some much needed rain to the Rivery Murray flats.

The Murray River has been compared to America's Mississippi River. Houseboats and paddlesteamers leisurely cruise up and down the more than 1500 miles of the mighty river.

The Murray originates in the snowy peaks on the flanks of Australia's highest mountain, Kosciuszko and flows through the states of New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia before it empties into the Southern Ocean in the Coorong Region of South Australia.
